We are delighted that Messing Primary School is an Academy within New Hall Multi Academy Trust. Sponsored by New Hall School, a leading independent boarding and day school in Chelmsford, this is an exciting chapter in the life of Messing Primary.
As an Academy, we have greater freedom to run the school as we think best, drawing on New Hall School’s excellent educational record and sharing expertise and facilities. Our pupils benefit through shared sporting and community ventures with New Hall School. The partnership has brought improved access to ICT resources during teaching and learning sessions, increased tracking as part of our continual assessment of each child and greater parental involvement.
We remain committed to ensuring the highest quality teaching. In June 2015, Ofsted graded Messing Primary School as ‘good’ with ‘outstanding’ leadership and management. We continue to work to an overall grade of ‘outstanding’.
We have dedicated staff and governors and, with New Hall’s support, we focus relentlessly on pupil achievement, building relationships and ensuring our school values and ethos are maintained at all times.
Through our partnership, our pupils are benefiting from the wealth of experience of dedicated subject-specialist teachers from New Hall School. Staff specialising in PE currently teach at Messing at different times throughout the week and pupils join New Hall for occasional lessons in other subjects and quizzes.
The partnership means pupils from our school can use the outstanding facilities on offer at New Hall, including their 25 metre indoor swimming pool where they can receive swimming lessons, free of charge, from the dedicated swimming coaches at New Hall.
We retain our own unique identity, namely that we are a village school, where every child matters and is a valued member of our community. Our motto remains: Every Child, Every Chance, Every Day.
